Message: | Cuxhaven was a small port, not of the category exchanging overseas mails like Hamburg, Bremen etc. So no paquebot on overseas stamps (MAY be with Netherlands or Scandinavia). Usually those odd markings appear when a stamp was found uncancelled on arrival and postmarked. It could have been overlooked in a large exchange p.o. responsible for rerouting. A belated 1942 usage seems implausible, particular with WW-II in mind. Suggestion: beeing a minor denomination, it was used as a sort of paper seal by a philatelist on reverse of an envelope. The arrival p.o. just saw a uncancelled adhesive and routinely cancelled it. - | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
