Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I did consider whether it is a forged cancel - but it seems such an odd usage to forge, which does not seem to add any particular monetary value to the stamp. If anything I could understand an argument that to a collector of used North Borneo stamps, the cancel could detract from its value. Of course it may have come from a cover which had been contrived to appear exotic in some way. or equally one which demonstrated the context of genuine use. Clearly the stamp would have to be examined by an expert to determine whether the cancel is forged. It's proved to be an interesting philatelic puzzle though, for which many thanks ! Best wishes, Giles.
