Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I don't think it necessarily follows that the ship had to be coming from N. Borneo. It is more a question of whatever (valid) stamps the passengers had to hand. I have examples on covers/postcards of GB stamps being used by British holidaymakers in the 1920s/1930s on cruise ships plying between Baltic ports with cancels from those ports where the mail was offloaded for onward transmission. Was the 1909 N. Borneo stamp still valid for postage in 1942 ? Regards, Giles.
