Message: | I don't think it necessarily follows that the ship had to be coming from N. Borneo. It is more a question of whatever (valid) stamps the passengers had to hand. I have examples on covers/postcards of GB stamps being used by British holidaymakers in the 1920s/1930s on cruise ships plying between Baltic ports with cancels from those ports where the mail was offloaded for onward transmission. Was the 1909 N. Borneo stamp still valid for postage in 1942 ? Regards, Giles. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
