Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Again many thanks. Your explanation certainly adds a bit of drama. Will seem quite impressive when I quote this, exhibiting my recently written up sheets at the Club sometime in the future. I am at the moment writing up what I have of the Occupation era (which in 20 years I have not seen a show...collectors bored to death with the `Bautenseries` etc??) and not speaking German it is hard work clutching My German Philatelic Dictionary in one hand; the desk littered with other dictionaries and then the outcome looks gibberish. Even the website `Babelfish`is not very helpful. Still there is not one member of the Society who has not been through it. With this in mind when knowledgeable members like yourself take the trouble to help fellow members out, it gives an added advantage to being a member of the Society. Again many thanks Regards Frank
