Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Thanks for your information. I too, have picked up a couple of early covers with values in multiples of ten on ebay. Covers of the currency reform from the Russian Zone with the handstamped overprints seem the most difficult to get and then there is the worry if they are genuine. One other problem is why are there the two overprints, carpet (all over) and the ribbon? My copies of the `Germania` in the sixties and seventies are broken runs and though resorting to the Index and the Society`s library I have not found the answer. Again many thanks Frank
