Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: The village of Brotzen is listed in the three-volume work on Prussian postal history and post offices by Werner Munzberg. There is no information on any postmarks used there but there was only a small postal agency there (accordings to Meyer's gazeteer only 596 population) rather than a full post office. To my mind this suggests that the mail they took in there may have been cancelled at a neighbouring main post office. I don't think the theory of a favour cancel holds up as surely they would have made a better job of it!
