Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I think we need initially an article or articles aimed at those who don't have computers at all and may even be resistant to the idea of them, giving some idea of the scope and scale of the benefits a computer can bring to philately, e.g. browsing and finding links to unsuspected sites, access to society notice-boards, exhibitions and articles + dealers' and auctioneers' offers posted on the web, using search engines to solve those decade-long nagging puzzles, etc. Then there could be more advanced articles on technical matters aimed at those who have computers but may not be that knowledgable as to the horizons now open to them. I've already suggested to Rex starting an on-going list of useful websites that members could contribute to. Philip Townshend
