The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I have spent a long time trying to find a simple microscope to use to Look at my stamps. A week ago I was on a visit and saw a "toy" microscope which was designed for children and attaches directly to a USB port on a computer. It magnifies 10x 60x and 200x and costs about 50 pounds. Because it attaches to the computer you view via the computer screen. the url for this is http://www.playdigitalblue.com/products/qx3/main I live in holland so bought one locally here but when looking for a source saw that amazon have them. I think it is a good product for stamp use and am amazed with it. Forgive me if anyone thinks this is the wrong place to tell about it but I felt that it was something worth sharing with the group. Regards Roger
