Message: | The Hanau "stamp" is one of a set of two said to have been issued in 1947 at a Baltic States DP camp. The stamps are listed on page 342 of the 8th edition of Mueller Briefmarken-Katalog Deutschland Spezial-Katalog, 1960. The Michel Spezial listed such camp post stamps for a while but dropped them years ago. At present, I think the definitive work on camp post stamps is Manfred G. Heber's Katalog der Lagerpost um 1945, published in 1983. I do not have a copy. It is now quite difficult to find. The Mewes and Bohne sales had copies some time ago. Ben Beede | ||||||||||||||||||||
