Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Such "stamps" were generally used within the camps, and I believe occasionally from camp to camp. It shows the 24Pfg rate for a distance letter at the first weight stage (20g) plus a "charity contribution" of 76Pfg. Some of these camps were of considerable size. Googling Hanau should lead you to the town's website, most of these have a facility for placing the pages into English, thoughit has to be said many such town websites are somewhat reticent with regard to information concerning their recent past 33-45. kind regards Nigel
