Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Hello. I wonder if anyone can help me with regards to this imperf. stamp. I believe that it came in more than one value. All I have come up with is that it may be from a post war displaced persons camp in Germany. The central coat of arms may be Baltic? Is the town Hanau the same one near Frankfurt (Hessen, US Zone), birthplace of the Brother Grimm? Was this stamp for postal use outwith the camp, perhaps for letters back to any family in the East or was it used internally, within the camp? Is it even a stamp? Was it maybe used fiscally for prepayment of documentation of some sort? Any help would be welcome. Thank you. Alex
