Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Dear Nigel, Thank you for your kind reply and advice. I managed some time ago to obtain the complete set of Albert Friedemanns' catalogues/books and the Poststempel catalogue. Luckily I speak, read and write German having spent 13+ years there, and up until now my main collection has been Thurn und Taxis and I am a member of the ArGe Thurn u. Taxis. I have considered applying to the ArGe Deutsche Kolonien but at the moment I think the GCPS may suffice, having said that, I do not know how many in the Society collect the Colonies. Many thanks once again for your reply and is much appreciated. Victor.
