I have recently acquired a copy of the 1872 1g. rose-carmine (SG5). I was intrigued by the postmark, which, I think, reads 'SCHWERATOWO' (the s,c,h,r and the final o are all partially missing, but I think that's what they are). The date is shown as 27 11 73.
This does not sound like a German place name to me. Anyone know where it is?
Was this stamp perhaps used in any of the German Colonies?
Many thanks
