Message: | You’ve no doubt found the issued for Festung Lorient and St Nazaire in Michel. These were places that remained occupied by the Germans until the end of the war. Morlaix was liberated in early August 1944, so the need for such an issue there seems doubtful. There are a lot of bogus overprints doing the rounds these days. If you search in the German stamps section on eBay for overprints, you will find 30 out of 50 items on the first page are decidedly doubtful, and some if the others would need careful examination. It would depend on their provenance to how interesting they are. If they are contemporary to the Liberation period or thereabouts, they become a lot more interesting (even if they are bogus) than something printed in the last few years. Are the overprints letterpress or lithoed? If you are able to post a scan or a photo it would give a better basis on which to make an opinion. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
