Message: | Dear Alan The Society can supply a comprehensive abridged English translation (164 pages)of the Deutsche Marine-Schiffspost handbooks by Crüsemann for just £8.00 including UK p&p. If you would like to order a copy please e-mail me direct. From this volume you will find the history of the MSP which developed in 1897 into the system utilising the handstamps as on your cover. Normally MSP kits were issued for the duration of an overseas voyage and when relinquished re-issued as needed either to the same ship or another. SMS Yorck in fact held on to MSP36 throughout (from her first tour commencing 16.7.06 to her last [19th] finishing 17.2.13. As you note MSP36 was next issued to SMS Seydlitz from 4.11.13.
