The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I have just acquired a cover from this ship which I assume contained official correspondence addressed to Wilhelmshaven. It bears a stamp with MSP No 36. The date was July 1910.
Q1. When did the use of MSP Nos start?
Q2. I understand that MSP 36 was later used by SMS Seydlitz. Was the number transferred over when many of the crew of Yorck were transferred (in 1913?)
Q3. If the answer to Q2 is "yes". did Yorck get a new number when she was recommissioned?
