Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: As a standard distant rate cover 1st weight stage it would be worth around £1, I would suggest asking for £3-4. Also check other covers you have using these stamps (1st Kontrollrat issue) for February 1946 dates, these are worth considerably more. However if they bear cancels from the American or British zones in this period they will be forged/backdated cancellations. All of the February dates so far discovered are from the Soviet zone, but even from here many are philatelic in their origin, though not always obviously so. regards Nigel
