The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I am preparing a lengthy article on the sub-post office at Buka (German New Guinea) including the known examples of strikes on cover and those GRI overprints cancelled by the Buka canceller dated the 16th November 1914 (although the date the canceller was applied to these issues is likely to have been some time in March 1915 in Rabaul). I have scans of the 2 16th November covers extant and the additional 5 stamps on pieces. There is also one GNG item bearing this date which is un-overprinted). I am looking for scans of any covers and pieces issued during the German period (July 1913-October 1914) together with a photograph (if one exists) of the sub-post office at Tanagole in the north-east of the Island of Buka.
