The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Hello ... I am a stamp collector and am working up an album page for a series of stamps depicting German Ladies' Regional Costumes. The stamps were issued early in the 3rd Reich, in 1935 ... For example, one of the stamps (Scott B69) which shows a lady from Warmia in East Prussia ... I would like to know more about this traditional dress ( ... Its name in German, whether it is for a special occasion ... Wedding ... Village festivals, etc) ... And also information on the castle in the background ... so that I could add it to my write-up that accompanies my album page ... I have attached an enlargement of the stamp. My research is difficult on this stamp as the area of East Prussia is no longer part of Germany ... I am having similar problems with the stamp showing the costume of Selesia. Anyway, do you think one of you might be able to help me ... Or direct me to regional sources that might help ... Thanks ...
