Message: | Hi, Bill, Just thinking out loud in print, basically: A basic single weight inland letter was 20 pf from 01/10/19 to 05/05/20. The 20 pf stamp in place at the time was various shades of blue, originally issued as such in 1905. This rate increased to 40 pf for the period 06/05/20 to 30/03/21, hence a further 20 pf. According to my Michel, the 20pf stamp was reissued in green on January 1920. So I would propose that the imprints were made in line with the dates above, using the colour in place for the relevant stamps at the time. I think that the place to look would be the Michel Ganzsachen catalogue. Unfortunately, I haven’t got one, and it appears to be out of print at Michel, but perhaps someone will have one, maybe even the club library? Regards, Charles. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
