Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Dear Giles, Thank you so much for your kind reply. I have reply to John on the other message board thread. Rex has been brilliant and did provide me with two articles from the library, one of those was from AE Barlow who covered gliding and German Philately. I am aware of a special book that covers all glider mail called 'Glider Mail: An Aerophilatelic Handbook Hardcover – 1 Jan. 1987' by Simine Short & Dan Barber. However, all copies seem to be in the US. I think at the moment i am finding my feet in this area, as i know following 1933 many of the segelflug aeroklubs came under the NSFK. I have also done some research into Operation Hannibal and the tragedy of various ships such as the Cap Arcona, Wilhelm Gustloff, Deutschland, Goya, and General Von Steuben. I tend to link philately, with literature, postcards and other ephemera. Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.
