Message: | Allan, the stamps were designed by a W. Kreb from a photograph of an official portrait. Hitler took a lot of care with his image with regards to official photos and paintings, so would have approved of the original source. I doubt he would have seen the early stamp designs, but the portrait used, by a Willy Eisner(?), would have had state approval as a design. The portrait shows Hitler in an heroic pose, appropiate for the time the stamps came out I suppose. Me? I like the design. | ||||||||||||||||
