Message: | Sorry to disagree, Giles, but from what I can see from the German postal regulations and several postal dictionaries (German/English and German/French), there is no way to translate "Bestellt" as "forwarded." The Reichspost and other German administrations seem to have used terms quite precisely. In connection with my research into the SA/SS covers supposedly transported in Berlin in April 1945, I had occasion to look closely at the German postal terms for "forwarded" and "delivered." Over and over again, dictionaries, regulations, and training manuals distinguished between the various words. Best wishes, Ben | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
