Message: | Please do not think me ungrateful for your information about a reprint of the 1944 Ortverszerchnis, Philip. It is highly useful, but I need to mention that German post offices did change, sometimes a good deal, over time. I have most of the copies of the Ortverzeichnis for the 1930s and 1940s, and the different editions come in handy. Copies for the 1920s hardly seem available. Sometimes, small postal installations last so short a time that they never were listed in the applicable issues of the Ortsverzeichnis. My favorite example of a disappearing agency is a postcard from an Autobahn work camp. Ben | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
