Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Please do not think me ungrateful for your information about a reprint of the 1944 Ortverszerchnis, Philip. It is highly useful, but I need to mention that German post offices did change, sometimes a good deal, over time. I have most of the copies of the Ortverzeichnis for the 1930s and 1940s, and the different editions come in handy. Copies for the 1920s hardly seem available. Sometimes, small postal installations last so short a time that they never were listed in the applicable issues of the Ortsverzeichnis. My favorite example of a disappearing agency is a postcard from an Autobahn work camp. Ben
