Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Dear Bob & Ben It so happens that a recent issue of the 'Danzig Report' (the journal of the Danzig Study Group of the USA based Germany Philatelic Society)carried a detailed article on the 'Danzig Farewll Issues'. The assertion that there were two overprintings (one in Danzig & one in Berlin) is contested. Some specialists believe that there was only one overprinting - at the Reichsdrückerei in Berlin - on a mixture of existing stock and newly produced stamps, some from Danzig some from Berlin printings. It's a complicated subject. Kind regards Giles
