Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: This cover was sent as a registered letter from the Allgemeine Verkehsbank in Vienna to an address in Burscheid bei Dusseldorf in Germany. The correct rate has been applied with stamps of German Austria cancelled in Vienna 5th March 1921 and arriving in Burscheid 9th March 1921. The cover has passed through exchange control and been resealed with an appropriate sealing label. The label is sealed to the envelop with a Munich cache. Normally the sealing label for Munich would be numbered 16, but this one is numbered 11, which I understand corresponds with the Karlsruhe office. I would be grateful for any information that would help explain this. Thanks. Brian
