The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I think it would be useful for philatelic organizations to have specific information about their members philatelic goals. Surveys are sometimes taken, but those that I have seen ask simply about which areas a given collector pursues. To me, such questions are quite different from allowing collectors to state their goals freely. I propose that the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society. I believe that the results (without collectors' names) would be enlightening and might prompt a good deal of discussion. My primary philatelic goal at present is to "collect information about Reichspost postal operations between 1924 and 1945, emphasizing the processing of mail, with little concern for the stamps issued during that period." My second goal is to "collect literature about German military mail and postal operations in occupied countries in the World War II era, although I no longer purchase covers associated with these areas."
