I have recently started collecting sheets of the inflation period, primarily through the society’s excellent postal auction and I would be grateful if someone could help with a few questions;
1. On one sheet the word Anlage appears in the top left margin (Mi242 H8520.22 sheet 9/5). I understand the word to mean enclosure, but what is its significance on the sheet?
2. On another sheet the word Unlage appears in the top right margin (Mi160 H3337.21). I can’t find this word in the philatelic dictionary or the Collins German Concise. What does it mean and what does it tell me about the sheet?
3. On Rotary printed sheets the position of the 4 digit control number varies being described as in position 4, position 5 etc.-What does this tell me about the sheet? And finally
4. I have a sheet of Mi262 (Cologne Castle) with a lilac coloured KC measuring 3mm in height stamped in the bottom left hand corner of the sheet. Can anyone tell me what this could be?
Thank you Brian
