Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Title: 1942 European Postal Congress

Message: It was both postal and telecommunications. The attendee nations were Germany, Italy and all those allied to them. Postally, the outcome was that from 1 April 1943 (deferred by one year for some) basic rate letters and postcards between the signatories were at inland rates. Germany had already got more comprehensive bilateral agreements with most of these countries prior to the congress. Please read my article in Germania August 2016. You may be able to find a copy of "Europäischer Postkongress, Wien 1942", a 2013 Morgana reprint of the original documents (Morgana has since gone out of business).
