Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: hello Don, The Michel Deutschland Spezial catalogue has a note that stamps from that set including your 3Pf (Mi. Nr. 410) as well as stamps from the previous definitive set of 'famous Germans' are known with 'masks'. The 'mask' is described as a 5-10mm wide band in the stamp colour across the upper part of the stamp and is an ink smear caused when the printing roller stopped. The catalogue prices the error at double that of the normal stamp (minimum 200 Euros on an unmounted mint example). However that minimum does not appear to apply to mounted mint nor used examples like your 3Pf used so its catalogue price apparently only doubles from 0.80 to 1.60 Euros. It's an interesting anomaly. Best wishes Giles
