Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: The one I use and which I have supplied to members through the Society's discount scheme is the Lindner Stampscop. It is quick to use and effective except on stamps with heavy hinge remains although by turning even such a stamp round in different ways on the pressure plate sometimes enough of the watermark can be seen. It's not cheap at currently £94.00 but the Society's members' discount of 20% + postage (UK £4.20) produces a saving of only slightly less than the joining subscription of £16.00. The discount scheme covers a wide range of philatelic catalogues, albums, leaves and accessories. Giles du Boulay Chairman and publications manager, G&CPS
