Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Thanks for persevering ! I think this may be a municipal fees stamp for the city of Starnberg probably dating from the 1920s or maybe even from the WW1 period. Below the city arms of a starling on a rock the poor printing has rendered the word Gebühren (fees) as Gebohren. Such stanps were used widely in Germany to pay a range of local fees from entry into resorts, registry office fees, local taxes etc. It's a pity the violet rubber stamp impression is so faint as otherwise that might have given a good clue as to the use of the stanp in this instance. Best wishes Giles du Boulay Chairman G&CPS
