Message: | I believe that Giles is correct in his assessment of these cancellations. This is hardly surprising, because Giles has a vast amount of philatelic knowledge and an admirable willingness to assist others. A book that MIGHT help identify the town is Karl-Heinz Utz's book, Handbuch Tarnstempel Stumme Stempel der Deutschen Feldpost 1939-45 that was published by the author in 1997. The reason that I wrote MIGHT is that determining the origin of mute cancellations is, obviously, tricky.
