Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Firstly, the Michel catalogue lists the dates as 8 Feb 1930 for the 10pf purple and 20pf lilac grey, and Sep 1930 for the 80pf brownish yellow. The reason for the change in the 20pf was simply that it had been much too close in colour to the 8pf. Again, the 10pf was changed because it had been too similar in colour in poor artificial lighting to the 45pf (and even to the 15pf). As for the 80pf, it was now in a distinct colour, so would no longer be confusable in poor lighting with anything else, e.g. the 40pf. Hope that helps.
