Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Given the absence of an image, I have to speculate about the nature of the "cachet." I do know that sometimes police units posted outside of Germany proper used their ordinary markings to identify their mail as being eligible for free franking through the military mail system. The Polizei Division was a curious force. Formed early in World War II, it was not acknowledged as part of the Waffen-SS until 1942, I believe. Ben Beede
