Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Many thanks for that, Rex - it does seem to be something that hasn't made it into any standard literature. I wonder whether anyone con confirm the observation (or otherwise) based on their own specimens, though..? I'll add at this time that it's all in connection with a possible unrecognised colour error - 3 kreuzer printed on 4a paper. I've tried to debunk it and failed in all ways, and the paper fibres may be a way of confirming it as real... but it will need very good evidence! All the best, Joe
