Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: This question arose when a collecton/dealer member of the Allied Occupation Yahoo Group asked how to distinguish Germany Mi. 20x, 20xa and 20pII. It seems that all three including the 20P were actually used to post mail due to a shortage of 6 Pfg. stamps. After much correspondence back and forth between myself and the ARGE AM POST (which I am a member) an answer was forth coming. It turns out the differenceis the gum. Thanks for your help. Michael J.
