Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Mr.Beede, Thank you very much for your detailed reply.I was a member of GPS. I am familiar with many of your highly informative articles and have read some time back about these stamps.In 2003 or 2004 there was a news regarding discovery of a partly burned mail bag.This bag was carried apparently by a postman who died after a wall fell on him??Some of the burnt covers had these SA/SS stamps.But you are right a genuine used example or on cover is highly unlikely.Any more input on these will be appreciated.
