Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: The letters ma, mb, mc etc. serve to identify the cancel and ultimately the user/counter or machine in use. zz is used to denote a postal agency, and here it is behoven for a reminder that ESSEN zz and PRESSECK zz have been used to fraudulently cancel modern day stamps, in particular the Heuss issues have been so treated, especially horizontal pairs, as have a number of definitives and other commemmorative stamps from Berlin. They can commonly be found on Epay< >com and < > co.uk and delcampo (misspelling deliberate. The two numbers below the date are the time given as a shortened form of the 24 hour clock. Here occasionally some strange times can be found, i.e. 26 and so on regards
