Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Dear Anthony - We do not have a specialised study Group for early German Empire stamp issues - but are you aware that much of the Michel Germany Specialised catalogue is now available in English, including Empire issues ? Furthermore, whilst the Schantl-Plattenfehler catalogues are in German, their easy to use format gives an enlarged colour photo of the many plate faults to be found in the stamps covered. There is also a Schantl catalogue covering German Empire. The Society can supply its members both these catalogues, and many more as well as albums and stamp catalogues at 20% discount (+ postage). That benefit alone could pay for the modest joining subscription. The society's quarterly, high quality journal provides a wealth of information on German philately. By joining, members also have opportunities to meet and learn from others about their collections. Regards Giles du Boulay, Chairman.
