Hello Roberto
Your collecting area sound very interesting. I collect Danzig from all periods, and therefore I have also had to research Prussian postal rates, rates etc in the period up to 1875 (and beyond). As you have discovered it is difficult to find the information about that period other than in German, and concisely brought together in one volume. I have therefore acquired a number of reference books on different aspects of the subject and belong to various specialist Societies whose journals contain relevant articles. The journal (Germania) of the German & Colonies Philatelic Society is of course published in the English language and it has contained some articles over the years about this period. Membership of the Society is relatively cheap – new members receive an index to Germania and can purchase back issues (where available) cheaply. The American Danzig Study Group has carried a number of articles regarding correspondence between Prussia and France. I can give you more detail on this if you e-mail me direct. The ArGe Neues Handbuch der Briefmarkenkunde website you mention looks very interesting. I am surprised you have had no response as they seem to have gone to some trouble to give contact information. I note that joining the ArGe costs only 16 Euros – it may be a good idea to join them and then see if you can obtain some of their publications at reduced prices for members. In fact I might do the same myself as I would also like to have the articles by Ilse Popp you mention.
Kind regards
Giles du Boulay, Chairman, Germany & Colonies PS
