Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: This is not my collecting area but I can at lesat advise that there were German Post offices in Constantinople between 1.3.1870 and 30.9.1914. Stamps were cancelled with various CONSTANTINOPEL DEUTSCHE POST postmarks. I can find no reference to the agency cachet you have in either the Michel Specialised catalogue or Friedemann's 'German Post in Turkey'. Regards Giles du Boulay, Chairman G&CPS
