The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I collect Romanian TPO's (Ambulanta/Bahnpost) postmarks from 1880 to 1916 on cover, many of which are addressed to destinations in Germany. The two addressed to Munich both have a small circular black mark on the front of the cover: one of 1897 with "56" in a circle and one of 1915 with "2" in a circle. None of the covers addressed to other addresses in Germany, or other destinations in Europe bear such a mark. I would like to find out whether this mark was only applied in Munich and the purpose. Thank you
