Dear All,
I'm considering whether to join at the moment, but in the meantime would appreciate thoughts on a puzzle. I have a standard-looking 3kr rose Baden postal stationery envelope postmarked 1867, but with the attached klappenstempel (embossed mark on the flap). The top word appears to be 'BAHNWOHL' and the bottom is 'Arlen' - a small town near to Singen, where it was posted. I can't read the middle part, unfortunately. There is a Basel-Constanz Bahnpost mark on the reverse, which may be relevant.
I've been unable to find anything in Michel relating to this, and have drawn a blank online. Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Joe |
