The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
Some years ago I inherited stamp albums. Now having more spare time I have been able to study and appreciate them. I have six full German albums. I have listed and used SG part 7 9th edition and find that the total value of used and unused is in excess of £ 10,000 per album. I also have two full albums of duplicates.Two questions is there a specialist philatey insurer and if I wanted to sell some of my doubles how does the selling price compare to the purchase price shown in SG part 7.For example a SG value shown as £5.5 what should one expect to recieve if selling. Finally I would really welcome an expert opinion about the quality and would be prepared to travel to show these stamps. Thanks for any replies.
