The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
Hello, Im a student at the University of Huddersfield and Im currently doing a project on detecting stamp forgeries.
I have been given three sets of stamps from different countries and I need to determine if they are forgeries or not. The German stamps I have are the Air Graf Zeppelin stamps with the overprints of Sudamerika Fahrt (1930) Polarfahrt 1931 and Chicagofahrt Weltausstellung 1933. I know that they are reprints because it is printed on the reverse but I still need to find as much information as I can and would grateful if anyone would be able to tell me where to start looking.
