The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I'm trying to find a reference on how much NSDAP (Nazi party) member dues were. A rate guide as such.
I'm a revenue stamp collector and I have bought NSDAP revenue stamps with face value in excess of 150 RM and seen them as high as 197+ RM. That's around 200 hours of workers labor or $1,500 USD in todays money. I would like to know how such high value NSDAP dues stamps were used.
I believe a members income or party rank determined a "dues bracket" similar to income tax brackets. The question is where is a reference to the members "dues brackets"?
In the book Papers Please! by R & J Cowdery on page 86 it says contributions (dues) were 3 RM per month and Spenden (donations) & Hilfskasse (relief to needy members) was 30pf per month. That's 39.9 RM per year or around one weeks pay for most.
There may have been a possibility for business membership although I never heard of this.
