The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I am studying the well known Lufthansa route from Europe to South America in the period of the 1930s when the mail went via the Gambia. Has anyone done any work on the "Deutsche Lufthansa Europa Sudamerika" red/orange cachets applied to this mail? Would also like assistance on the routes from the various European originating locations to Stuttgart and then to Bathurst. Any and all assistance would be welcomed by this West Africa collector wishing to extend his knowledge.
