Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Punktlucke literally means 'dot gap'. From 1875, postal card Mi P5, the printers removed one or more dots from the address line to indicate a new printing. This system developed over time and was supplemented in 1882 (Mi P12) with a date code in the lower right corner. In 1890 a letter was added after the date code and from 1894 (Mi P34) dates were indicated by a watermark. P31 and P 38 are reply paid cards (double cards): 'Frageteil' is the 'top card' that is the outward or message card, and 'Antworteil' is the card underneath for the reply. Please get back to me if you need any follow up after reading the article.
