Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Thanks for the reply Benjamin. I had guessed that my question probably wouldn't turn up many positive answers but if you don't ask then you don't know for sure... If I can't find out information about the printers, can someone explain to me what the code numbers refer to that are found on the reverse of many of these propaganda postcards, i.e, E/0818, O/1579, E/0483, M/0252, E/0841, I/0402, G/0592, O/1350, etc, etc. The only difference that I note at the moment is that postcards that have the code, O/1350, appear to be printed on a rougher kind of card. Maybe these were printed late in the war due to paper shortages, who knows??? Also, has anyone ever seen a 1933-45 period postcard catalogue. I have read all the modern available books on this subject but I have always wondered if there were books printed during the war to show collectors of that time what they could collect as a means of showing their support for 'our boys in the front line'. Regards, Ian
